Welcome,
My name is Edyta Marczewska, and I am British born. I recently re-settled in my home town of
Beverley here in the north of England, after spending most of my adult life working in
London and Sydney.
 
After leaving school, I took an Economics degree at Manchester University and then
trained to become an English Language Tutor. I worked for EF Education, since 1993,
one of the world's largest private education providers, in a variety of roles.
 
In 2011, I completed a Masters Degree in Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy,
and now run my own small private practice, as well as teaching English at East Riding College!
Qualifications
 
I hold a DIP TEFLA (1996) and an MA In English Language Teaching & Applied Linguistics, from Kings College,
London (1999).
 
I have a wealth of experience teaching language learners from all around the world, including Germany, France,
Italy, Sweden, Korea, Japan, Colombia and Brazil.
 
I have taught General English from beginner to advanced level, and also taught Cambridge Exam courses
(First Certificate, Advanced, Proficiency exams), and the IELTS and TOEFL/TOEIC tests.
 
Teaching Approach
 
I have a warm, friendly, encouraging, communicative style.
 
Before your first Skype lesson, I will send you an email with some questions about yourself, so I can assess your level
of written English before we first meet on-line.
 
In the first lesson, I will ask you about your background and interests, what your reasons for learning English are,
and what you hope to gain from on-line learning, so you can get the most out of your lessons with me.
 
I will then shape an individual program for you based on your needs.
One very important key to success with English is regular practice speaking English with a native speaker.
 
This is why having an online tutor can be so helpful.
