Latest Lessons

Welcome,
My name is Edyta Marczewska, and I am British born. I recently re-settled in my home town of
Beverley here in the north of England, after spending most of my adult life working in
London and Sydney.

After leaving school, I took an Economics degree at Manchester University and then
trained to become an English Language Tutor. I worked for EF Education, since 1993,
one of the world's largest private education providers, in a variety of roles.

In 2011, I completed a Masters Degree in Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy,
and now run my own small private practice, as well as teaching English at East Riding College!
Qualifications

I hold a DIP TEFLA (1996) and an MA In English Language Teaching & Applied Linguistics, from Kings College,
London (1999).

I have a wealth of experience teaching language learners from all around the world, including Germany, France,
Italy, Sweden, Korea, Japan, Colombia and Brazil.

I have taught General English from beginner to advanced level, and also taught Cambridge Exam courses
(First Certificate, Advanced, Proficiency exams), and the IELTS and TOEFL/TOEIC tests.

Teaching Approach

I have a warm, friendly, encouraging, communicative style.

Before your first Skype lesson, I will send you an email with some questions about yourself, so I can assess your level
of written English before we first meet on-line.

In the first lesson, I will ask you about your background and interests, what your reasons for learning English are,
and what you hope to gain from on-line learning, so you can get the most out of your lessons with me.

I will then shape an individual program for you based on your needs.
One very important key to success with English is regular practice speaking English with a native speaker.

This is why having an online tutor can be so helpful.

Best regards,

Edyta
